The article “how to have a better relationship” written by the NewYork Times delves in to the science of a relationship, covering the subheadings; love and romance, sex, staying faithful, conflict and making it last. Experts and scientists have combined information for tips on how to manage a relationship and what factors contribute to being unfaithful in a relationship. A number of studies in both animals and humans suggest that there may be a genetic component to infidelity. While science makes a compelling case that there is some genetic component to cheating, we also know that genetics are not destiny. And until there is a rapid-gene test to determine the infidelity risk of your partner, the debate about the genetics of infidelity isn’t particularly useful to anyone. Researchers have found that the love we feel in our most committed relationships is typically a combination of two or three different forms of love. But often, two people in the same relationship can have very different versions of how they define love. The article also gives ways for a couple to stay faithful to each other, including some of the following; avoid opportunity, picture your partner and keep your relationship interesting, these are just a few factors which they believe can keep a relationship happy.

These findings can impact the way I decide to shoot my video and how I portray the relationship, as I will be filming a happy couple, showing flash backs of memories the couple made together and then switching to the present day where by the male has been unfaithful in their relationship and I will include some of the contributing factors which the article suggest why people cheat. When we are filming the relationship when it’s at its peak we can use the article to portray a happy relationship, the article explains how to make it last, including; being generous, going on dates, and investing in the friends and family. All these factors will help influence the narrative and further our understanding of the topic.

Some of these ways to get over a breakup would fit perfectly within my narrative. Whereby I could incorporate these to my female characters role at the end of the narrative after she is cheated on and the relationship is therefore over, this when I will use these factors to show my character getting over her breakup, for example blocking their number, creating an ex-free environment and spending time with friends.
